Tightening the nut onto the valve compresses the split ring sleeve around the pipe, internal barb, and double o-ring for a seal the produces a leak free connection. It is chrome plated solid brass and meets all lead free requirements. This valve uses ball construction for long life. The quarter turn straight valve has an inlet for 1/2 in. PEX connections and an outlet of 3/8 in. O.D.
